Meagan Miller

Soprano Meagan Miller, winner of the 1999 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, has been praised by The New York Times for her “gorgeous and lively tone,” and her “commanding presence and deep sensibility,” while The Washington Post has hailed her “voice of unusual beauty.”
Last year Ms. Miller made her European debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, where she sang both the Missa Solemnis and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, both under the baton of Roger Norrington. Her Asian debut included the appearance at the Macan Festival and Hong Kong Opera Company. She has also performed Bruckner’s Mass in f-minor with the American Symphony Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall.
With the Minnesota Orchestra she has performed Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. She has sung Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Hollywood Bowl, with the Rochester Philharmonic, and with the Detroit Civic Symphony. She has also been heard at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall and the Kennedy Center in repertoire ranging from Messiah and Haydn’s The Creation to Carmina Burana.
Her numerous operatic appearances include La Traviata, Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, and La Boheme with L’Opera de Montreal. She has appeared in recital at Alice Tully Hall, Weill Hall, the Kosciuszko Foundation, the Juilliard Theater, Merkin Concert Hall, the Morgan Library, and the Chrysler Museum. In an effort to expose young audiences to classical song, Ms. Miller has completed several residencies sponsored by the Marilyn Horne Foundation, blending outreach and performance.
In addition to the Metropolitan Opera auditions, Meagan Miller has also won a Richard Tucker Music Foundation Study Grant, Juilliard’s DeRosa Award, the Joy in Singing Award, and the Liederkranz Foundation Competition
